Accomplishments
The Illinois Council would like to congratulate the following members
on obtaining insurance designations:

Kim Leigh, AIS designation
Congratulations to Arlean Groff, AAIP President,
will be moving to the Kansas City area where she recently accepted
a position. Peggy Shots will be acting President until 6/30/07.
Congratulations to Cheryl Bradley who was selected
to serve on the board of the Boys and Girls club in the communications
and marketing department. Cheryl who is currently serving as VP of
Public Relations for her Toastmasters group, Speakeasy has also been
asked to serve as an officer.
Congratulations to Barbara Norris who will be retiring
on December 21 after 38 years with State Farm. She currently serves
as a Legislative Consultant in the PCU Legislative Unit. Barbara has
been a member of NAIW since 1971, has belonged to associations in
LA., IL, and MI., and has served NAIW at the state, regional, and
national levels. She will be moving to Michigan upon retirement and
plans to join GKAIW.
Education has been a pivotal part of Barbara's outstanding career.
She received her bachelor's degree from Northeast Louisiana University
and to her credit, also holds the CPCU, CLU, ChFC, FLMI, AAM, AIM
and CPIW designations. She is also a member of the International Coaching
Federation and the Professional Coaches Association of Michigan.
In Barbara 's new "career" as a Professional Life Coach
, she offers a variety of personal and professional workshops and
seminars, including Life Coaching, Team Building, Executive Coaching,
Transition Management, Coping with Change and Career Development,
through her company, Blissful Life Coaching. Barbara is also available
to teach continuing education classes as a fund-raiser for local NAIW
associations through Insurance Educators. We wish Barbara much success

Congratulations to Sharon Jackson of NSIP has accepted
a job in Oregon and recently moved there. She was an active member
of NSIP and public relations chair for the IL Council. Susan Stone
has been named as her replacement.
Congratulations to Georgianna Miller, former member
of the Insurance Women of Suburban Chicago (IWSC) and Chicago Association
of Insurance Professionals (CAIP), will be retiring from her current
position and will be moving to Arizona with her husband who also is
a recent retiree.
Congratulations to Viola Lashley, Illinois Council
Director, who graduated from Walden University in Minneapolis, MN
receiving a MBA in Risk Management and Insurance.
